Sports Word Search

The sports list mixes the games themselves, from CRICKET and CURLING to TAEKWONDO and ORIENTEERING, with the things around them: a REFEREE and a WHISTLE, a TROPHY and a MEDAL, the STADIUM where it all happens.

Many sport names share an ending, and it's the main trap on this page. SKIING, ROWING, DIVING and FENCING all finish in ING, and half the ball games finish in BALL. When a grid holds three of them, the endings are everywhere and they all look like the right one. Search for the start of each word instead: the V of VOLLEYBALL or the H of HANDBALL is much rarer than the double L they end with.

Short names work the other way. GOLF, JUDO, POLO and TEAM are only four letters, and they blend into the filler. It helps to look for their least common letter, such as the J in JUDO, and check the cells around it in every direction the level allows.

ORIENTEERING, the longest word here, only fits on Hard, and GYMNASTICS needs at least Medium. Every game draws a new line-up, so you can play again and again.
