Fruits Word Search

This page deals its grids from a basket of nearly eighty fruits. Some are in every lunchbox, like APPLE, PEAR and BANANA; others are worth a second look, like the spiky RAMBUTAN, the knobbly KIWANO or the tart SLOE used for jam.

Fruit names bring a lot of repeated letters. BANANA and PAPAYA are almost all A's, and the berries share a long tail: STRAWBERRY, RASPBERRY and BLUEBERRY all end in the same five letters. When two berries are on the list, find where each one starts rather than where it ends, or you'll keep landing on the wrong one. BERRY on its own is never dealt next to them, because a word inside another word would be found twice.

The longest names, like PASSIONFRUIT, POMEGRANATE and DRAGONFRUIT, only fit on Hard's bigger grid, and WATERMELON needs at least Medium. Short ones such as FIG, DATE and LIME are the tricky ones: three or four common letters are easy to miss in a sea of filler.

A new set of fruits is picked every game, so the basket stays fresh however often you play.
