Ocean Word Search

The ocean list goes from the surface to the deep: the SAILOR and the LIGHTHOUSE on the shore, the PUFFIN and ALBATROSS overhead, the CORAL and ANEMONE of the REEF, and further down the SQUID, the NARWHAL and the dark TRENCH of the ABYSS.

Sea creature names are full of the letters the filler uses most, like E, A, R and S, which makes some of them surprisingly well hidden. SEAL, SHELL and SAND can look like a dozen other runs of letters. A trick that works well here is to find the rarer letters first: the Q of SQUID, the K in KRILL and KELP, the W that starts WALRUS, WHALE and WAVE.

The fish with FISH in their name, JELLYFISH, STARFISH, CUTTLEFISH and SWORDFISH, can share one grid, and all of them end the same way. Pick them out by their first letters instead of that shared tail.

On Hard, some words run backwards and upwards, so a LOBSTER may read RETSBOL from left to right. The list tells you what to look for; the grid decides which way it swims.
