How to Play
The deal gives you seven tableau piles, with only the top card of each face up, plus a face-down stock in the corner and four empty foundations. The aim is to move all 52 cards onto the foundations, one pile per suit, from Ace up to King.
Drag a card to where you want it, or simply tap it and it jumps to a legal spot, trying the foundation first. You can move a whole run of face-up cards at once by grabbing the highest card in the run. When you run out of useful moves, tap the stock to turn over a new card onto the waste pile.
Rules
- Tableau piles build down in alternating colors: a red 7 goes on a black 8.
- Only a King, or a run starting with a King, can fill an empty tableau pile.
- Foundations build up by suit, one card at a time. Once a card is on a foundation it stays there.
- Drawing from the stock turns over one card at a time. When the stock is empty, tap it to recycle the waste; there is no limit on passes.
- Every draw and every card move counts as a move. Undo takes back your last move and removes it from the count.
- New Game shuffles a fresh deck every time, and Restart deal replays the one in front of you. Daily Challenge gives everyone the same deal, reset at midnight UTC.
Tips & Strategy
Uncover face-down cards first
The biggest pile on the right hides six cards. Freeing those hidden cards opens up far more options than any move from the waste.
Do not rush to fill empty piles
An empty column can only take a King. Clear one when you have a King ready to go there, ideally one that frees another hidden card.
Hold back low cards sometimes
Sending every card to the foundations right away can leave you without a place to park a red 6 or a black 5 later. Keep a few in the tableau while they are still useful.
FAQ
Is every deal winnable?
Not every Klondike deal can be solved, even with perfect play, in either mode. Most can, and Undo lets you back out of a dead end.
Does using Hint or Undo hurt my score?
Hint is free and simply highlights a legal move. Undo removes the move you took back, so only the moves in your final solution count.
Which mode counts for the leaderboard?
Only Daily Challenge, where everyone plays the same cards. New Game results stay in your browser as your own record: games played, wins, fewest moves, and your winning streak.
